“Different” by Micah Tyler, is a song that impacts my daily life. Yes, this is a “Christian” song, but it is that one song that will always speak depths to my soul. We cannot always control what happens in this world and we do not always have the answer for why things happen, good or bad, but one thing I can trust in daily is that He is always by my side.
I have been through a lot in my life as a twenty-year-old and this song helps me every day to remember that I cannot always fix the bad things but maybe what I can do myself can help them feel a little less bad. Being the one to be the light in the darkness.
I have always been different and I think that is why I am so good with people because they see that I am different. I can speak depths with people and not know anything about them. I do not judge someone for what they have done because that is not my place, but instead, I use the gift God has given me and I do more.
My favorite lines from this song are, “I know, that I am far, from perfect
But through You, the cross still says, I’m worth it; So take this beating in my heart and; Come and finish what You started; When they see me, let them see You”, This verse speaks so strongly to me because I am not perfect, no one in this life is. No matter what I have done or what I have gone through I know I have worth. I want when people see me that they see Gods light and they see what He is doing in my life and I want to bring them the same joy.
The theme of this song is hope. There is hope that we can change the way people think about the world and how people think about bad circumstances.
