Sometimes running away is the easiest thing to do. Looking back though you cannot help but see the little house you grew up in. The plot of land you would play with your siblings. That has all changed now and is not the same that I remembered. Its not so playful as my childhood once was. The shed where my dad would work, and we would try and bother him before mama would come yelling for us to come inside and clean up. Those memories are quickly fading. Sometimes the best thing to do is to reflect and move on from what was once great. Moving on from a place that now seems so empty and distant.

I chose Andrew Wyeth, Christina’s World. I found it interesting. It’s a girl in a field looking back on a house and empty farm land. It’s a dark and gray image so I decided to take a more deep and thoughtful approach to this image. To me its looks like in a sense she’s running away from this house and falls and takes a moment to look back at this place she grew up in. So, I wrote a little bit about her thoughts reflecting on something that holds so many good memories but suddenly growing up, those memories are fading and are not so happy. It looks like she wants to go back but something is holding her. Maybe it’s the memories but I took it as moving on. Her final moment before her farewell.
